Still Technically a Kid

“I’ve been here once before, with a lad I was working with. He had heart surgery here like it was no big deal.

He’d only just arrived and had no-one. My boss said I didn’t need to come but you can’t just leave someone to it in a whole new country like that, he was still technically a kid.

He was totally chilled about everything, until he realised he had a pig’s bit in his heart. He was like ‘I got an actual bit of animal, in my body, keeping me breathing’. That’s what got to bother him, he didn’t realise that’s what was happening til after it was done.
